NORTH WILTS men are rooted to the foot of the central region table in the Wessex League after another heavy defeat.

After losing 86-66 to Purnell in their opening game and collecting one point out of 16 they crashed last weekend to a heavy 97-54 loss to leaders Clarrie Dunbar but did win on one rink to collect two points.

This second reverse leaves North Wilts on three points, one behind fellow strugglers Thornbury and 11 adrift of fifth placed Nailsea.

North Wilts were adrift throughout against Wessex League play-off holders Clarrie Dunbar .Across the board they were 22-10 down at five ends, 48-26 at ten and 83-45 at 18 before finally losing by 43 shots.

The only ray of light came from the home rink skipped by Chris Brown who came from 4-2 down at five ends to lead 10-7 at ten and finally beat Keith Bailey’s four 20-13 to secure two badly needed points.
