SWINDON Town’s futsal and football education programme starts its next recruitment drive this weekend with trials taking place at Croft Sports Centre.

This programme is open to 16-18 year olds looking to complete their Level 3 BTEC in sport, take part in a work experience programme and receive daily coaching on a daily basis.

Trial days for this programme take place on Saturday, December 7 for anyone wishing to apply directly to the club.

Football In the Community Trust manager Clive Maguire has been hugely impressed with the youngsters that have taken part in the programme so far.

“Although the programme is about education, we have been impressed with the talent that we have seen,” he said.

“Many of the girls have filtered into our Swindon Town Ladies team and we hope one day that a youngster may be given the opportunity to join the Swindon Town first team.”
