PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon Town v Carlisle United results and updates

Well that was pretty good showing from the boys. I thought it was a great all round performance from all concerned. How we weren’t 4 up at half time I don’t know. A bright and lively start from the kick-off, with the first STFC corner timed at just 21 seconds.

Carlisle’s one and only corner came in the second minute. There was some great link up play and Nicky Ajose could have bagged a brace before Massimo Luongo grabbed the opener. Old boy Sean O’Hanlon pulled the visitors level in the second half, still showing our up our defensive frailties and our inability to mark up on set pieces.

A searing run moments later by Pritchard nearly earned a penalty for Town. From the resultant foul, Alex Pritchard provided the ultimate reply. What a free kick. Town back in the lead. There were still some nervy times for the Town defence as Carlisle pushed for another equaliser.

With time ebbing away, Copper used his last sub to run down the clock. On came Dany N’Guessan and with his first touch finds the back of the net to put the game beyond any doubt.

Town played well, and worthy of the 3 points. Even the ref had a good game, allowing the game to flow with a good control of the play. Can we have him every week?
