PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon Town v Port Vale

PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon Town v Port Vale I’m in Spain this week (6 hours of work – 7 days of sunshine. Sorry). So suffice to say I won’t be at the County Ground for this one.
Swindon are at home again this week against newly promoted Port Vale. The home record this season isn’t that bad; played 7 won 5, drawn 1 and lost 1. The home form is the reason we are currently 8th. Then again, the away record this season isn’t brilliant and is the reason why we are currently 8th.
This weekend the boys have to put the back-to-back defeats behind them and restore winning ways to the home turf.
Last time we played the Vale at home – April 2012- we ran out 5-0 winners. I think I got some points for that match. The time before that – April 2008 – we went one better ending the afternoon 6-0. Five up at half time with 3 goals coming in the first half hour, from Lee Peacock, Craig Easton and Jack Smith before Tony McNamee and Michael Timlin both netted in the 45th minute.
With Simon Cox playing and Billy Paynter coming on from the bench, you would have expected a few more goals. Yet the second haft was devoid of goals until the 90 minute when Ben Joyce on for Simon Cox found the net to make it SIX – Nil.
A similar result like the last two would do very nicely, though just 3 points would do just as well
