YASER Kasim remains intent on representing Iraq at international level but only if the country’s bosses conduct themselves in a professional manner.

The midfielder opted against representing the country of his birth against Saudi Arabia last week in favour of remaining in Wiltshire, with Town boss Mark Cooper suggesting the player was keen to keep his international options open.

But Kasim is still keen to play internationally for Iraq as long as he is treated in the right way although he is more concerned about keeping up his good form for Swindon Town.

Speaking after last night’s 2-0 win over Notts County Kasim said: “I’m keen but we just have to see how they react and how they act.

“It’s a little bit different to the European style of management so we will have to see how they conduct their business and see what they do, but at the moment I’m playing football here and I just want to keep on playing and get better.

“I need to feel good about the whole situation because I’ve been back there a few times and they don’t seem to get business done properly, and for me when I go there I want to feel good and when I come back I want to feel even better.

“I want to get the international experience but I want to carry on enjoying my football here.

“After the Chelsea game and the coverage it got things changed a bit but I didn’t suddenly become a good player over night, but international call-ups will always come if I’m playing well and the international scene will always be there.”
