SWINDON TOWN: Young targets JPT upset
6:00am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in Sport
PLYMOUTH midfielder Luke Young feels Argyle are destined to go on a winning run in the coming weeks, as he and his teammates prepare for their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy trip to Swindon Town.
Argyle have picked up only one point from their last four games in League Two, and dropped to 17th position in the table ahead of the distraction of a knockout clash at the County Ground tonight.
However, Young feels the Pilgrims currently occupy a false position in the table and he expects an imminent upturn in form.
“We are disappointed we haven’t got the results because the performances are there,” he told the Plymouth Herald.
“I think everybody knows that, and everybody has been saying that.
“It’s just a matter of everybody sticking together, grinding things out and before you know it we will win three or four on the bounce and climb back up that table where we should be.”
Young is hopeful of making his first start of the season this evening, having come off the bench to score a spectacular free-kick in Argyle’s Devon derby defeat to Exeter on Saturday.
Young has made eight appearances for Plymouth this term, and all of them have been as a substitute.
He said: “When you come on and change games like that, you always look at hoping to play in the next game.
“If I do play (against Swindon) then I will give it my best.
“If I don’t, and then come off the bench, I will keep doing what I’m doing and give the manager (John Sheridan) something to think about.”
