Town striker could be out for four weeks
NILE Ranger could be set for at least a month on the sidelines after injuring his groin against Chelsea on Tuesday.
The Advertiser understands a scan on Thursday led the Town medical staff to suggest Ranger could need four weeks or more to recover from the knock.
The news comes as a major blow to the Robins, who have had a number of injury setbacks in recent weeks.
Ryan Mason missed the last two Town matches with a thigh problem, though he could return against Preston this afternoon, while Ryan Harley remains absent with a knee complaint.
Alex Smith has already undergone surgery on a knee injury of his own, while it is the same part of the body which has troubled Tijane Reis and the Portuguese winger will have an operation on Monday.
