CHELSEA manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Spanish playmaker Juan Mata will start for the Blues in their Capital One Cup third-round clash with Swindon Town tomorrow.
Mata has been out of favour with the Special One following his return to Stamford Bridge but will get the chance to stake a claim for a regular starting spot when the Europa League holders visit the County Ground.
Speaking after his side beat Fulham 2-0 in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday evening, Mourinho said of Mata: “He'll be playing from the beginning against Swindon.”
“I want to the players to prove that I am wrong (for leaving them out).”
Brazilian David Luiz is also set to get 90 minutes in the televised tie, as well as full-back Cesar Azpilicueta, England international Ryan Bertrand and midfielder Michael Essien.
The match is a sell-out, with Swindon looking to emulate their success in the same competition last year, when they reached the fourth round.
