SWINDON TOWN: Williams joins Yeovil on season-long loan
12:13pm Friday 23rd August 2013 in Sport
STRIKER Andy Williams has left Swindon to return to former club Yeovil on a one-year loan deal.
The front man - who joined Swindon last summer following a two-year spell at Huish Park - is expected to go straight into the Championship club’s squad to face Derby tomorrow.
Yeovil boss Gary Johnson told ytfc.net: “We have some very good strikers already at the club but we all know in the Championship you can’t have enough goalscorers.
“I'm sure the odd one or two fans may have felt aggrieved that Andy left to join Swindon but he felt it was the right move for him at the time.
“We understood his decision and these sorts of decisions often happen in football, but we are delighted he is back with us at Huish Park.
“The minute we were allowed to speak with Andy he showed a great desire and keenness to be back playing for Yeovil.”
Williams made 72 appearances and scored 22 goals during his previous spell with the Glovers.
