Cooper appointed Town boss
4:39pm Tuesday 20th August 2013 in Sport
FORMER caretaker manager Mark Cooper has this afternoon been named as the club's new full-time boss.
Cooper has agreed a two-year contract at the County Ground, and was presented at a press conference alongside chairman Jed McCrory, director of football operations Lee Power and non-executive director Sangita Shah.
Since taking over following Kevin MacDonald's resignation on July 12, Cooper has won two and lost two of his four games in charge.
On his appointment, Cooper said: “I’ve been in the hot seat for over a month and have been treated very well, and I like to think we’ve moved it on a step.
“I’ve had some great support from the people sitting next to me, and obviously I’ve done enough for them to offer me the job.
“I want to be part of the long-term future of the club. The club’s taken a different route in terms of transfer policy, and I can’t wait.”
