SWINDON Town are close to completing the signing of young Liverpool keeper Tyrell Belford.

The Advertiser understands the Robins are finalising a deal for the 19-year-old, who joined the Premier League outfit’s academy in 2009 after the Reds picked him up from Coventry City.

Nuneaton-born Belford, who was in the same year group as former Swindon stopper Jamie Stephens at Liverpool, has earned international recognition at various levels and was part of the England Under 17 World Cup squad in Mexico in 2011.

Meanwhile, the Robins are also set to announce the permanent signings of two trialists who have impressed during their time training at SN1.

Holding midfielder Yaser Kasim and central defender Raphael Rossi Branco are believed to be ready to put pen to paper on contracts at the County Ground.

Kasim was formerly on Brighton’s books while Branco has most recently plied his trade in non-league with Whitehawk.

Finally, Swindon Town season ticket holders will be able to pick up their tickets for the upcoming campaign from the County Ground from Friday. Those who have requested the tickets to be posted out should receive them in the coming days.

A Swindon spokesman said: “We’d like to thank all those fans who have bought season tickets for their patience.”
