YEOVIL v SWINDON TOWN: A potted history

SWINDON Town and Yeovil share a very limited history.

With the Glovers not reaching the heights of the Football League until the early years of the 21st century, only seven matches have taken place between the teams in senior competition at Huish Park and previously at The Huish.

Of those seven games, Town have lost just one - a 1-0 defeat in March 2009 - and have won four.

Yeovil failed to score a goal in the first 107 years of competition between the teams, although admittedly that long stretch included just four matches.

Swindon enjoyed two FA Cup victories in Somerset - in 1902 and 1962 - before the sides first met in the League in the goalless draw of March 11, 2006.

On Town’s last foray down the A303, late goals from Sean Morrison and Jon-Paul McGovern earned the Robins a point as they came from 3-1 down to draw 3-3.

Great win tonight to all the team! Even the Yeovil fans in the bar tonight had to admit the best side won!
