Such a shame, but sometimes we have to say at least we have a Club to support.

I know everyone says that, and the fans deserve more after what we've all been through in the past 6 weeks....

I think your comments seem quite vaid even if they are slightly tongue in cheek.

However, i dont think in reality they are trying to hamper anything. They have been very aware of the morale of the team taking a hit after PDC left.

Hence allowing 2 senior team members take the reigns for 2 games.

Now, they have tried and one has publically said, they need someone new...as stated above, they will sit donw with Jed today and discuss getting a new manager.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised; and we'll have a new manager announced by Saturdays game.

Honestly, If it is issues other than what has been stated in the media then I don't know what he old board did to forcevhim out.

That car crash of a take over has cost us dear. No manager, no back up staff and a depleated squad, At least 4 players short, 3 players lost in the Jan window which would have made a big difference and with good players going out.

Something needs to be done. Not to save our promotion hopes, they vanished last night with that abject performance. Something needs to be done now to save next season or we will finish up like we did with Wilson in charge. Within touching distance of the Championship only to be allowed to slide into L2.

It's up to the new board now to grasp the initiative. If they don't then we know what the plan for the future really is!

Got to agree, the only positive from last night was Williams playing wide for the last 15minutes or so.
It will mean a change of formation but he is better wide than through the middle where he cannot find the space he needs.

Perhaps there should be a 'Don't bring back di Canio' petition, just to give some balance as his reinstatement would not be universally popular.

The club are aware, Phil Spencer is aware and all monitoring the response. It's now or never. Do we want promotion or not? Some question if we are ready? Maybe, maybe not.. The booing was shocking last night. One thing that has been consistent over the last 7-8 weeks is the players and they did not deserve to be booed. They knew they had not performed and will have got the message when very few people applauded their efforts at the end of the match. The booing was therefore totally uncalled for.

You are missing the point. Booing the players has a negatve impact on them both during the game and for the next game. Blimey didn't realise footballers were so sensitive! Had I known they were on a par with Actors and Ballerinas I would have restrained myself to polite applause, I also promise not to raise my voice in the ground again in case I upset their sensitive souls. I will keep my feelings on what was without doubt the worst performance of the season to myself, with totally rubbish performances from players who yes actually get paid for playing their favourite sport, who let down themselves, the club and the supporters a lot of whom would struggle to earn in a month what they get in a week. Hopefully they won't be reading these posts otherwise they will need counselling!

How has this comment been missed - by far the most sensible I've seen for weeks and echoes my sentiments?!

We are not ready for Championship football big backers or not. There is a MASSIVE gap between L1 and Championship football. Most of theL1 teams who have been promoted in recent years all have good stadiums, support and infrastructure to them - Leeds, Southampton, Charlton, Huddersfield, Norwich, Millwall, Brighton, Sheff Weds, Swansea, Forest, Blackpool.

Winning the play-offs v Millwall would have been bad enough - the gap now is even bigger and it will be a bigger car crash if we go up this season.

The result will be mass hysteria which as the past few weeks has shown few STFC fans can cope with, our **** kicked each week, low attendances, probably another manager after the next one gets sacked for not delivering, and back at square one in 2014/15 with more than dented pride.

Do not get me wrong, we can get there and we need to get there, but lets not run before we can walk.

Get a new manager for the long term who isn't going to be threatening to walk every week, who will be loyal if other clubs come knocking and who can build a team capable of the transition - last night proved, this one isn't and we won't have the money to re-build each year as PDC broke the bank.

Let’s get the commercials right off the pitch, get the extra income streams coming in and develop the ground so that we can use that income to make the club sustainable.

Some will see this as a negative comment – it’s not it’s realistic. We are in a positive position at the moment with a new board that can support us for the foreseeable. We need to consolidate after the PDC whirlwind. We don’t need him back – he walked out and my views would be the same even if he was still here.

Peatmoor P I this not taking the rough with the smooth. Even though I don't agree with booing. When the club is doing well they take the applause and congratulate each other but when things are not going to well they have to accept some fans booing. I am sure when the game was over Ward and Miller gave them more than booing (I hope so anyway) so I am sure that they were not to bothered.

Think International Robin should rename himself Intergalactic Robin, as I for one can't work out what planet he's on ! When the self chosen one, decided to leave us at the worst possible time, he did it in a way that he thought would be percieved as him being blameless, and sure enough, he managed to turn half of the fans against the new board, whilst they were powerless to do anything about it. He will always be one of the greatest tactical and inspirational managers that this club has ever had, but once he decided that he no longer wants us as the vehicle for his publicity machine, despite the overwhelming show of affection from the fans, I, for one, would not want him to return. He preached loyalty and professionalism, but practiced neither.

I also think he learnt a lot from his errors after his first season and think he would have continued to do so IMO.
I know you will disagree but to me he brought pride,passion,ambiti

on and professionalism to the club which will be hard to find again IMHO.
The new budget is the same as what PDC had so lets see what the new man can do.
As for ME ME ME i think things like giving his image rights so we can have the best treatment for the players in a top hospital is not a sign of selfishness.
Also let see the quality of player the club can bring in without him on the other end of the phone..

From Heads of State, through politics and business, to the factory shop floor you will find ministers,heads of dept, and line managers all taking credit for acheivements made by others.

Often this is to help them "Push on" in their chosen career, but equally it can be used to divert attention away from the real "workers" who may otherwise crumble when placed in the spotlight.

Just a thought, but maybe he was just soaking up pressure for the players, to allow them to focus.

We are not ready for Championship football big backers or not. There is a MASSIVE gap between L1 and Championship football. Most of theL1 teams who have been promoted in recent years all have good stadiums, support and infrastructure to them - Leeds, Southampton, Charlton, Huddersfield, Norwich, Millwall, Brighton, Sheff Weds, Swansea, Forest, Blackpool.

Winning the play-offs v Millwall would have been bad enough - the gap now is even bigger and it will be a bigger car crash if we go up this season.

The result will be mass hysteria which as the past few weeks has shown few STFC fans can cope with, our **** kicked each week, low attendances, probably another manager after the next one gets sacked for not delivering, and back at square one in 2014/15 with more than dented pride.

Do not get me wrong, we can get there and we need to get there, but lets not run before we can walk.

Get a new manager for the long term who isn't going to be threatening to walk every week, who will be loyal if other clubs come knocking and who can build a team capable of the transition - last night proved, this one isn't and we won't have the money to re-build each year as PDC broke the bank.

Let’s get the commercials right off the pitch, get the extra income streams coming in and develop the ground so that we can use that income to make the club sustainable.

Some will see this as a negative comment – it’s not it’s realistic. We are in a positive position at the moment with a new board that can support us for the foreseeable. We need to consolidate after the PDC whirlwind. We don’t need him back – he walked out and my views would be the same even if he was still here.

Oh, and quit with the BOOING – we lost our first game in 14 last night in which we have scored 19 goals in 8 home games….and the team get booed off!

Getting bored of international robin now! Not exactly had the regular 8 thousand or so STFC supporters rushing to sign it have you! Most fans with thier head screwed on have accepted the fact that Paolo wouldn't be coming back when he first left.

Think International Robin should rename himself Intergalactic Robin, as I for one can't work out what planet he's on ! When the self chosen one, decided to leave us at the worst possible time, he did it in a way that he thought would be percieved as him being blameless, and sure enough, he managed to turn half of the fans against the new board, whilst they were powerless to do anything about it. He will always be one of the greatest tactical and inspirational managers that this club has ever had, but once he decided that he no longer wants us as the vehicle for his publicity machine, despite the overwhelming show of affection from the fans, I, for one, would not want him to return. He preached loyalty and professionalism, but practiced neither.

With you on that PdC had a 'warchest' of £4.5m and a weekly wage bill of £250,000, You would have to try very hard to fail with that kind of backing! Look at the players he brought in first, how amany are still here? How many had their contracts paid up and cost us even more money? Sorry but I thought we almost went into administration again?

When quoting how much Paulo spent and 'wasted' please can you also quote how much revenue above budget he made for the club from his cup runs. Also note that the club had to comply with the wage cap (and they only breached it by a few % because of the scheduling of payments) so please do not try to make out he is some kind of crazed spendthrift jeopodising the clubs future.

Agreed!! But none of the performances were that bad.
Someone is needed urgently. Even Miller and Ward have said it. I really admire them for being honest and it's really important that the new owners act promptly.

some good points RRobin, when i look at out present squad I can think of only 3 possibly 4 that could step up, Wes, Simon and Nat with possibly Collins given time.

Ward, miller, navarro, macca, Flint, McEverley, Roberts, de Vita, Devera would struggle to play regular in the Championship.

Jury out on Williams, Storey, Luke Rooney and what is the future for caddis, he is still our player.

New manager would have to practically have to rebuild a new team, if we got up.

Get a new manager for the long term who isn't going to be threatening to walk every week, who will be loyal if other clubs come knocking and who can build a team capable of the transition - last night proved, this one isn't and we won't have the money to re-build each year as PDC broke the bank.

Let’s get the commercials right off the pitch, get the extra income streams coming in and develop the ground so that we can use that income to make the club sustainable.

Some will see this as a negative comment – it’s not it’s realistic. We are in a positive position at the moment with a new board that can support us for the foreseeable. We need to consolidate after the PDC whirlwind. We don’t need him back – he walked out and my views would be the same even if he was still here.

Oh, and quit with the BOOING – we lost our first game in 14 last night in which we have scored 19 goals in 8 home games….and the team get booed off!

some good points RRobin, when i look at out present squad I can think of only 3 possibly 4 that could step up, Wes, Simon and Nat with possibly Collins given time.

Ward, miller, navarro, macca, Flint, McEverley, Roberts, de Vita, Devera would struggle to play regular in the Championship.

Jury out on Williams, Storey, Luke Rooney and what is the future for caddis, he is still our player.

New manager would have to practically have to rebuild a new team, if we got up.

Getting bored of international robin now! Not exactly had the regular 8 thousand or so STFC supporters rushing to sign it have you! Most fans with thier head screwed on have accepted the fact that Paolo wouldn't be coming back when he first left.

Think International Robin should rename himself Intergalactic Robin, as I for one can't work out what planet he's on ! When the self chosen one, decided to leave us at the worst possible time, he did it in a way that he thought would be percieved as him being blameless, and sure enough, he managed to turn half of the fans against the new board, whilst they were powerless to do anything about it. He will always be one of the greatest tactical and inspirational managers that this club has ever had, but once he decided that he no longer wants us as the vehicle for his publicity machine, despite the overwhelming show of affection from the fans, I, for one, would not want him to return. He preached loyalty and professionalism, but practiced neither.

With you on that PdC had a 'warchest' of £4.5m and a weekly wage bill of £250,000, You would have to try very hard to fail with that kind of backing! Look at the players he brought in first, how amany are still here? How many had their contracts paid up and cost us even more money? Sorry but I thought we almost went into administration again?

When quoting how much Paulo spent and 'wasted' please can you also quote how much revenue above budget he made for the club from his cup runs. Also note that the club had to comply with the wage cap (and they only breached it by a few % because of the scheduling of payments) so please do not try to make out he is some kind of crazed spendthrift jeopodising the clubs future.

We are not ready for Championship football big backers or not. There is a MASSIVE gap between L1 and Championship football. Most of theL1 teams who have been promoted in recent years all have good stadiums, support and infrastructure to them - Leeds, Southampton, Charlton, Huddersfield, Norwich, Millwall, Brighton, Sheff Weds, Swansea, Forest, Blackpool.

Winning the play-offs v Millwall would have been bad enough - the gap now is even bigger and it will be a bigger car crash if we go up this season.

The result will be mass hysteria which as the past few weeks has shown few STFC fans can cope with, our **** kicked each week, low attendances, probably another manager after the next one gets sacked for not delivering, and back at square one in 2014/15 with more than dented pride.

I think most would agree with you Kelliz, so why didn't Ward and Miller? I said last night i was disappointed with the starting 11 and this morning that they have to take some of the blame for last nights defeat because of their poor team selection

good posts, much as it hurts me to say, I almost feel it would be best for us to stay in div 1 next season at least, unless this board are prepared to invest big time I can only see a quick relegation if we do go up.

If Jed didn't try and contact him then he either wanted him out and it was deliberate, or it was incompetence in the extreme. I can't believe he's just forgot it and on Tuesday it was 'Doh! Better ring Di Canio' then 'Oh no he's resigned like he said he would, should have called him'

Of all the important deadlines within the takeover, and surely knowing how Paolo likes to be loved, to miss that 5pm deadline, if he did, cannot have been by mistake?

Why did he not have Paolo's direct number? If communication was through Spencer then that is ridiculous and it's no surprise communication was poor.

I'm proud of myself in terms that I achieved over 250 signatures.. But the time has come where I accept Di Canio is not returning and listening to both sides of the story, I blame:

Andrew Black for choosing and planning to sell the club in the middle of the season (what was the fool thinking?!)

Sir William Patey for have no communication skills and having no care for the club

The new board for not picking up the phone and attempting to persuade PDC to sit tight

And finally, I blame Di Canio for not being understanding in the situation and instead becoming frustrated and making rash decisions.

Overall, who is the winners? No-one and that is the saddest point of all. It's left a bitter taste in everyones mouths, whichever view point you hold.

To sum it all up - Gutted.

Hello Dukey, "move on to what" mate you don't need to move on to anything,the supporters of our club don't need to move on either,the facts are we were here before and we will be here after OK we may not go up this season or next but true as god made those lovely little apples we will continue to support the Town.
We are all unsure of what the future brings but that is no different to a large percentage of the time most of us have supported the club,we all have dreams we are football fans and why just give up dreaming now? life with Paolo was wonderful a lot of the time but none of our supporters can tell me they had confidence in Paolo being here full term,can they? lets carry on dreaming/hoping/pray

I'm still puzzled about this 5 oclock deadline- why, when with all that was going on, compound the issue with this. If he had the club and fans at heart surely you'd ease back a bit and have some thought for others. Hello Dukey, "move on to what" mate you don't need to move on to anything,the supporters of our club don't need to move on either,the facts are we were here before and we will be here after OK we may not go up this season or next but true as god made those lovely little apples we will continue to support the Town.
We are all unsure of what the future brings but that is no different to a large percentage of the time most of us have supported the club,we all have dreams we are football fans and why just give up dreaming now? life with Paolo was wonderful a lot of the time but none of our supporters can tell me they had confidence in Paolo being here full term,can they? lets carry on dreaming/hoping/pray

Seriously need a Manager that will get immediate respect from the players,not sure who i would prefer so long as he and his team are experience enough to gather up the mess we are in and give us all a little stability with a shout at finishing as high up this pretty poor lge 1 this season.

The two players in temporary charge was a mistake (which they now acknowledge).

Someone suggested that Paul Bodin should have been utilised and I heartily agree that he is the obvious choice to be in charge until the end of the season. There after on results (the last time he took charge he had a 58% success rate!)

I'm proud of myself in terms that I achieved over 250 signatures.. But the time has come where I accept Di Canio is not returning and listening to both sides of the story, I blame:

Andrew Black for choosing and planning to sell the club in the middle of the season (what was the fool thinking?!)

Sir William Patey for have no communication skills and having no care for the club

The new board for not picking up the phone and attempting to persuade PDC to sit tight

And finally, I blame Di Canio for not being understanding in the situation and instead becoming frustrated and making rash decisions.

Overall, who is the winners? No-one and that is the saddest point of all. It's left a bitter taste in everyones mouths, whichever view point you hold.

To sum it all up - Gutted.
