SWINDON TOWN: Special education teams take on Colts

SWINDON Town Football in the Community Trust’s two special educational needs sides both got run-outs against Marlborough Juniors Colts this week.

The games took place at Marlborough College, with the children being selected from Crowdys Hill, Springfields House, Downlands and Notton House.

Becky Hull took charge of the ‘Town’ team, while Marvin Brown managed the ‘Robins’ team. The ‘Town’ squad played well to carve out a 4-3 victory but the ‘Robins’ came up against a strong Marlborough outfit and lost 5-1.

Marlborough College laid on a post-match meal before the players who took part were presented with their representative ties to mark their selection for the SEN matches.

Clive Maguire, STFC FiTC Trust manager said: “I would like to sincerely thank Becky and Marvin for their support of the two teams and also a big thank you needs to go to Matt Gow from Marlborough College for making the occasion so special.

“All the players conducted themselves in a very sporting and appropriate manner and this is the second year we have run this fixture and we are hoping that it will now be a regular annual event.”
