He said he didn't want to cause a car crash, then came perilously close to doing so, and putting part of the club into supporters' hands would have been a decent legacy.

I'm sure the 31st of January deadline to sell the club coincided with the transfer deadline.

AB knew that up until that point he could sell players to cover cost's, after that he either had to cough up the readies every month or put us into administration.

My guess is that had AB not found a buyer, a few more players would have been sold off on the cheap to take in enough money to cover the bills to the end of the season.

4 more games sfter the saddlers, starting with two tough away games at Brentford and Yeovil, followed by 2 winnable games at home against Oldham and Notts county, (two more teams that have changed their manager). We need to get as many points on the board as possible to sustain the challenge and by Easter Monday's televised game at Donnie we should have a good idea where we are.

Will feel alot more comfortable once Paolo has brought in some quality loanees as we are vey thin on the ground at the moment and it could be deciding factor.

I'm of the opinion right or wrong after all the ups and downs - perhaps promotion as much as we want it and possibly have earned it -it will be a step too far with the current condition of the club finances and turmoil in the background, and may cause us more and more grief.
We need ground improvements, and would need to invest in new players possibly, and I expect players contract renewals will cost more.
I never have been a gambler and perhaps my views reflect this, but I just feel uneasy about what we don't know, whats gone on or going on in the background of the club.

Well Boremuff losing is a good thing. I said yesterday before the match that I think PNE might do us a favour and I was right. I as said my gut tells me we wont capitalise on it against Tranny, I just feel thats gonna be another draw.

Yet if our current, small dip in form results in draws, then thats better than a loss. Keep the unbeaten run going and it will turn in our favour.

Last year we went 11 wins on the trot, rose to the top of the league and stayed there till they put the crown on us.

I think its not Bournemouth or Donney we should all be watching, but Yeovil Town. Thats now 8 wins on the bounce and they're storming up the table. They're only 4 pts for the top. Extend their run to 10,11 or 12 while the others around them falter and they could be uncatchable.

If your going to throw scorn and abuse around on the Bournemouth forums (maybe one or two do deserve it), then there should be nothing but praise for the Yeovil fans as they have just quietly gone about their game and, playing under the radar and have crept up on all of us.

I feel our crunch game, apart from Tuesday will be against Yeovil. Tranmere are on a slide and we can win. Will we win, well thats another question. Its now the Yeovil match that will define whether we have our sights on the autos or play-offs.

We need to get as many points on the board as possible to sustain the challenge and by Easter Monday's televised game at Donnie we should have a good idea where we are.

Will feel alot more comfortable once Paolo has brought in some quality loanees as we are vey thin on the ground at the moment and it could be deciding factor.

I'm of the opinion right or wrong after all the ups and downs - perhaps promotion as much as we want it and possibly have earned it -it will be a step too far with the current condition of the club finances and turmoil in the background, and may cause us more and more grief.
We need ground improvements, and would need to invest in new players possibly, and I expect players contract renewals will cost more.
I never have been a gambler and perhaps my views reflect this, but I just feel uneasy about what we don't know, whats gone on or going on in the background of the club.

Agree with Chis & Fiips next season will be the major challenge, for the Board, Team and fans. I still think we will win the league as it's in our own hands with away games at Tranny, Donny, Sheff Utd, Yeovil, Brentford win those and we are champions.
The Championship will be a big step up with teams nearer to Premiership level that League 1 level, massive difference.
We will need to invest whichever league we are in next season, more so for Championship.
Will be interesting to see the plan for the future, as much as I love the CG the only real option is a new ground, as the likes of Reading, Swansea, Cardiff to bring in the additional income neded. It need to be done correctly and not as Coventry who cant pay their £100k a month rent.
So lets enjoy the rest of this season, get behind the team, encourage the players and celebrate winning the league.

The team we have with out Ritchie and Holland are no way near good enough..
So I THINK if we were to finish in the playoffs We would have done well with the current team we have and the form the players are in..

The next 7 Games are massive and IF we are still in the mix then I will be happy....

And please don't say we have players coming in as at this moment in time we don't

Sorry, but I'm getting a bit fed up everyone saying we should be more like Reading. Agreed they have a new stadium & 365 days a year income, However they have lost tens of millions each year for the last 10 years being bankrolled by firstly Madjeski & now Russian backers. They would be in deep muck if their backers walked away like black did. So not the blueprint to be followed in my opinion.

Dazzler -very good post, and as we all know stats can be made to say what the statto want them say(LR not a dig at you). For example as Avo points out Willo & Collins have scored 20, W-9 & C-11. Getting out LR's calculator this equates to roughly 1 goal per 3 games for both of them (2.8 for C & 3.4 for W). Avo's wish, and we'd all agree, is for them to get another 15+ between them but the stats and their current form(average at best), suggest otherwise indicating that at 1 from 3 the best they'll get is another 5 each, which surely can't be enough to be the goals that fire us to promotion can they? especially without Ritchie's contributions -where are the much needed extra goals going to come from if the front two don't up their game? I agree it's still all there to play for and we're far from out of it but I'm with Chish & OTR - the events of recent weeks may have irretrievably damaged our promotion chances and draws wont be good enough. Oh and of course its speculation on my part also but ultimately that's what we all do on here isn't it!
