PREDICTIONS LEAGUE: Swindon Town v Shrewsbury Town results
10:30am Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in Sport
"Dear all, .
Well it's all been said before but just how amazing is it to be witnessing this resurgence under Paolo and what an amazing human being he is!?
To kick start the whole process and with all those fantastic volunteers getting the game on these are very proud times to be a Swindon Town F.C. supporter.
Only a year ago on the 30th December we were in 6th place in League 2 with: .
Played 22 - W-11 D-4 L-7 Goals For: 34 Against: 18 for a total of 37pts.….and we were just starting to find 3rd and 4th gears, although no-one could have predicted a 10 match winning run.
This season at the same time we were: .
Played 23 - W-11 D-6 L-6 Goals For: 37 Against: 18 for a total of 39pts.….and thanks to an unbeaten sequence of 3 games we were 2pts and 3 goals ahead…..since then we've certainly hit 4th gear and after extending the unbeaten run to 7 games we're looking to go up to 5th gear and hopefully overdrive! This squad of players have all got their heads screwed on and look to have an amazing togetherness….even better than last season!
Saturday's 2-0 win was another that could (and should) have been 4 or 5-0 as Shrewsbury couldn't live with us in the second half but to have seen the game at all is testament to all those who rallied to Paolo's call for help.
Detailed results will be posted below once the thread is up along with the F.A. Cup 3rd Round results but here are the results - it has been a HIGH scoring week across the board where every single poster who entered got at least 1 point: -----.
1) Correct Score: Swindon Town (the real STFC) 2 - 0 Shrewsbury.
2) Attendance: 7,754.
3) First Goalscorer and Time: Martin on 49mins.
4) Corners: 15.
5) Time of Last Sub: 85mins.
Bonus Questions: -----.
A) Total Fouls: 19.
B) Away Fans: 250.
C) Added on Minutes: 7mins (remember this was minutes played not as per the 4th official's board).
Cheers all and here's to the off-pitch situation being resolved quickly and for someone to see what a wonderful opportunity it would be to join our express train ride into the Championship….AND with Paolo at the driver controls!
…oh and shovelling the coal…..and checking the tickets…..oh and serving the drinks…..given fresh investment from a forward thinking group we could yet be realising our dream of seeing Paolo at the controls and steaming back into the Premiership!….We can dream can't we?!?"
