MIDFIELDER Tommy Miller has admitted the Swindon Town squad will be on something of a revenge mission when they travel to take on Colchester on Saturday.

When the two sides met at the County Ground earlier in the season a 25-yard free-kick from former Town man Michael Rose secured all three points for the East Anglian side, in a game where the Robins were punished for failing to take their chances.

Since then though, Joe Dunne’s side have struggled and have only won once in their last 11 games, and Miller is keen to take advantage and make amends for the defeat as Town return to action following the postponment of the Boxing Day clash with Leyton Orient.

“We are looking forward to the game because we were disappointed Boxing Day was called off, and we had worked hard leading up to it all and we wanted to play,” he said.

“With the way we are playing and the results we have been having we are full of confidence, and we fancy ourselves to beat anyone.

“When Colchester came here they had a new manager which gave everyone a lift, and they got the result so we owe them one really.

“We are always disappointed to lose any game and we were majorly disappointed that day, so it would be great to go there and turn them over because they came to our patch and beat us.”

Miller was part of the Huddersfield squad which won promotion from League One last season, and the 33-year-old believes now is the perfect time for Town to find a level of consistency which could fire them to similar heights in April and May.

“We have to keep our run going and picking up results and not trying to get beat and keep us in with a chance of promotion, which is our aim for this season,” he said.

“Colchester will be a tough game and there are going to be some strange results between now and the end of the season, but we need to try and be consistent and make sure we are in the right place when it gets to the end of the season.

“They are all tough games in this league, but if you get some consistency you give yourself a chance, and if we do that we will give ourselves a chance.”
