COMPETITORS enjoyed fair sport in the Gerry Lugg Xmas match fished on Sunday on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Devizes.
Top honours on the day went to David Benger, from Bradford, with a mixed catch of roach and skimmers weighing 9 lb 15 oz.
Richard Tomala, from Melksham, was a close runner up with another roach and skimmer catch weighing 9 lb 12 oz.
Kevin Rowles, from Devizes, clinched third prize with a roach and skimmer catch weighing 8 lb 9 oz.
Other placings: 4. Nigel Saunders Bath 7 lb 11 oz; 5. Andy Pritchard Westbury 7 lb 8 oz; 6. Darren Fletcher Melksham 7 lb 6 oz.
THE Saturday Open match at Ivy House Fishery produced mixed sport as top honours went to Andy Lord, of Fish and Field, with a mixed catch of carp and silvers weighing 36 lb 6 oz.
Paul Connor, of Ivy House, took runner up spot with 12 lb of carp and silvers, while Chris Cottrell, of Ivy House, was third prize with 9 lb 2 oz of carp and silvers. The silvers prize went to Lord with a weight of 4 lb 4 oz.
