CALNE Town took the derby spoils as they thrashed local rivals Devizes Town at Nursteed Road last Saturday.

Calne pressurised from the first whistle and it paid off in the 17th minute when a Levi Cox pass to Kyle Rigley saw the latter run the channel and cross from the right, with Tyler Sibbick on hand to head goalwards.

The Devizes keeper, Matt Penfold, failed to hold the ball and it fell back at the feet of striker Sibbick to fire Calne into the lead.

Two minutes later, Cox was through on goal but his shot was cleared to the right for a throw-in.

Devizes did occasionally break through but the on target shots were easily collected by Lilywhites keeper Steve Allison or they were high and wide.

Ten minutes before the break, Calne broke through again when a Rigley forward pass was run onto by Jake Jeffries, who crossed for Sibbick to score his and the visitors' second.

90 seconds after the restart, a Lilywhites attack ended with the Penfold saving the ball but his clearance was poor and fell to Cox who spun and fired the ball into the top right-hand corner of the net to make it 3-0.

On the hour mark, following a couple of attacks from the hosts, Calne were looking for number four when another cross from the right was struck against the crossbar by Sibbick.

Allison had to make a decent save in the 80th minute to keep his sheet clean but that was the only shot that worried the Calne followers.

And as the final whistle approached, Jeff Roberts and Drew Youngsam's side went four goals to the good when Sibbick struck home to complete his hat-trick.

Calne travel to Elmore this weekend while Mark Love's Devizes travel to Keynsham Town on Tuesday evening.
