SWINDON TOWN: Town set to complete Hollands loan
6:37pm Wednesday 14th November 2012 in Sport By Ned Payne
SWINDON Town have agreed the loan signing of Charlton’s Danny Hollands.
The 27-year-old midfielder has all-but finalised a deal tonight that will see him remain at the County Ground until January 5.
The formalities are expected to be completed tomorrow.
Hollands is a former Chelsea youth and reserve team captain and he spent time on loan at Torquay before completing a full transfer to Bournemouth in 2006.
He stayed with the Cherries for five years until switching to Charlton on a three-year contract in May 2011, after electing not to renew his contract on the south coast.

Also comments saying that he hasnt had a full or proper pre season. I hope he works out for us as he is great prospect, box to box midfielder, and he would be a coup.

generally positive comments there then, although a few said he wasn't as fit as last season without a proper pre-season, PDC won't play him if he's not deemed fit enough! Haven't seen him play this season but he was box to box type and he normally bags a few goals as well, certainly used to at bournemouth. Personally hope Bostock and Si get nod on Sat with Hollands to come on then he will prob start Tues when wouldn't be surprised to see Ferry on bench as PDC has said he fears him getting burnt out/injured
Paolo like to start new players straight away...
Sorry thats only if we play oxturd...

Paolo Di Canio has boosted his selection options with the capture of the experienced 27-year old midfielder, who has agreed a temporary deal to remain with the Robins until 5th January 2013.
Hollands started out with Chelsea and signed professional terms at Stamford Bridge in November 2003, but didn't make a first-team appearance as the West London club's aspirations skyrocketed following the arrival of Roman Abramovich.
His first taste of first-team action came on loan at Torquay United, for whom he played ten times at the end of 2005/06, when he helped the Gulls seal their survival in League Two.
And after being released by Chelsea that summer, he joined Bournemouth, where he established a reputation as a classy midfielder with an eye for the spectacular. He made over 200 appearances during a successful stay with the Cherries before a move to Charlton, signing a three-year deal, in the summer of 2011.
He has made 14 appearances so far this season for Chris Powell’s side and once the move is completed, is expected to be available for Saturday’s home League One fixture against Yeovil Town.

Paolo's next signing should be Sweden's Ibrahimovic after his four goals against England we got bashed by the Swede's 4-2. Only a friendly but we were coasting 2-1 up until we made lots of changes which altered the game to be honest. Have to say the goals from the Swede were top drawer and especially the last one which was a sublime overhead kick from way outside the box an incredible goal.

What about the possibility of playing all three in a 4-4-1-1 formation? I think PDC might be tempted to start Hollands and reluctant to drop either of the other two. It seems Ferry and Bostock deserve to keep their places on the basis of last Saturday (and Ferry for his consistency this season anyway).

It is very long overdue for PDC to stand on his own two feet, without a ridiculously highly paid agent.

He was woeful against Cov there - so wouldn't expect him there again under PdC soon
.
We should stick to 442 and have Hollands on the bench and see what he can do from there
.

Sounds like a good player and family man, however if he aint fit why is Pdc going in for him????? How much is DC's agent paid? And what's the definition of "ridiculously highly paid?" Not having a go but a lot of statements are made on here, which people then don't seem to be able to qualify. Would be a change if there was some decent info, and if none's available, if people didn't state what they're saying as fact. "I'm guessing Paolo's agent gets paid a lot and I'm unhappy about that if so" doesn't have quite the same impact though I suppose.
Does anyone know how much PDC's leech of an agent will get for this please? It is very long overdue for PDC to stand on his own two feet, without a ridiculously highly paid agent.

Quite how that can be translated into any implied slagging off of Di Canio i just don't see. If anything it was quite the opposite as only day or so ago there were headlines and quotes about not hyping up Storey.
Perjhaps the BORN STUPID comment is more appropropiate to someone else?!!!

If read properly in the first instance anyone with a modicum of intelligence would have realised that this was a lighthearted post based on the fact that the first five Adver headlines were all to do with Miles Storey, and the fact that we may be signing a new midfielder came way down the list.
