I love PDCs passion and sometimes cringe at his comments but at the end of the day you're absolutley right. I'd rather have a wild card maverick than a totally dull yes man... He's the best thing that's happened to our club for years and some on here won't realise that until he's gone...

When we signed Paynter he couldnt hit a barn door at his previous clubs and when he joined us him and Austin hit 40 goals between them so there are alot of things to take into consideration when hew players are signed whether they will work well with the players here etc and style of play we have and sometimes it takes longer to adjust. Paynter made the biggest mistake of moving to the championship as no way is he good enough for that level and he is back in L1 which is his limit but he went for money and it backfired on him.
So can we stop all the rubbish negative talk and back our manager .

So how do you arrive at £14m - do you know this for a fact or is it a figure you've just plumped for by having a lucky dip?

Paynter had some ambition. Glad he did rather than settling for L1. So what if he's back here - nothing ventured.... Fergie and Wenger, in what must be a combined managerial tenure of some 40 years, have not signed as many duds as PDC in 18 months. I'd list them all but it would take too long. Funny thing is there are still loads of them in the team. All the best players are from Wilson's days. We paid over the odds for almost everyone, large fees to uncle Phil and pay off who we don't want. If you buy enough players at some point the combination. If not they get slated. PDC buys them so is 100% responsible for EVERY purchase made. The problem with Coke is the tip of the iceberg. That can be forgiven. What can't is the other 10-15 over-priced, injury prone, over-hyped poor signings that have been made. If you can't see that then you are stupid bordering on insane. Be a bit objective. We all love the club but this unconditional love for PDC is a joke. He's done an OK job so far. OK. Not exceptional as always moaning about how he hasn't got enough players and blaming every one but himself. He could get us back-to-back promotion and will deserve praise for that. But come on have a word with yourselves.

Totally agree...PDC does what he wants! He is the best thing thats happened to this club. He is passionate and cares...and I agree let him get on with his job and the chairmen get on with their jobs...Brian Clough springs to mind...looked what happened to Derby when the Chairman put in his two penneth worth all those years ago! Due diligence??? Really?? Not bad so far Champions in the 1st season and poised to take this title this season! Dont forget all of the money poring into the clubs coffers with our giant killing acts plus our trip to Wembley last year! COYR's!!!

I love PDCs passion and sometimes cringe at his comments but at the end of the day you're absolutley right. I'd rather have a wild card maverick than a totally dull yes man... He's the best thing that's happened to our club for years and some on here won't realise that until he's gone...

Totally agree...PDC does what he wants! He is the best thing thats happened to this club. He is passionate and cares...and I agree let him get on with his job and the chairmen get on with their jobs...Brian Clough springs to mind...looked what happened to Derby when the Chairman put in his two penneth worth all those years ago! Due diligence??? Really?? Not bad so far Champions in the 1st season and poised to take this title this season! Dont forget all of the money poring into the clubs coffers with our giant killing acts plus our trip to Wembley last year! COYR's!!!

Add me to that list - have been very disappointed in recent weeks how even well seasoned posters appear to be sticking the knife in and just for good measure giving it a twist as well.

Instead of rising to the Adver bait every time they come up with a potential PdC bashing headline -why not just wait and see how the season actually pans out?

I love PDCs passion and sometimes cringe at his comments but at the end of the day you're absolutley right. I'd rather have a wild card maverick than a totally dull yes man... He's the best thing that's happened to our club for years and some on here won't realise that until he's gone...

Totally agree...PDC does what he wants! He is the best thing thats happened to this club. He is passionate and cares...and I agree let him get on with his job and the chairmen get on with their jobs...Brian Clough springs to mind...looked what happened to Derby when the Chairman put in his two penneth worth all those years ago! Due diligence??? Really?? Not bad so far Champions in the 1st season and poised to take this title this season! Dont forget all of the money poring into the clubs coffers with our giant killing acts plus our trip to Wembley last year! COYR's!!!

Add me to that list - have been very disappointed in recent weeks how even well seasoned posters appear to be sticking the knife in and just for good measure giving it a twist as well. Instead of rising to the Adver bait every time they come up with a potential PdC bashing headline -why not just wait and see how the season actually pans out? Thing is Malk, he doesn't cut anyone else any slack, so he mut lie and die by the sword. I am a passionate person and don't you think that we love his passion? We absolutely do, but he cannot disrespect this club and tear it to shreds. In one breath I am cheering to high heaven with some of his antics, i.e. running on the pitch, kissing a bloke in a wheelchair, telling the priviledged footballers that they look like midgets in there Range Rovers. And, amazingly, still turning out for training and matches when his dad has just died...that's incredible commitment. But he just spoils it when he calls us Leaguea one and tells us to go to Oxford if we disagree and that he will bring history to us when we already have '69 and Hoddle premiership and standing on terraces at Burnden Park in League Cup semi finals whilst he was a world away at AC Milan. I and others really, really want to love him, but there are hordes of Swindon supporters that are rapidly falling out of love with him over his antics. I just wish he would manage our team and leave it there.

Perhaps southside7 is DSTFCR in disguise or is it just that they went to the same school? Whatever, in 133 years of STFC history you quote three events when a fan could feel proud - TWO further events last year which I am certain LR will confirm is a 66% ratio was achieved last year alone and you did not bother to quote. I just wish so called supporters would let Paolo manage and leave it there themselves, he isn't doing too badly in my book.

Likewise if Stevenage are paying say 50% of Risser's wages then up to Jan we will budget 50% in our total then post that 100% so that alone could send us "over" - yet if he leaves we remove ALL his wages from the budget and come "under" again . Some people might consider the ridiculing of another person's spelling as bullying. It's also rather unwise to make such comments and follow them with three spelling errors of your own. I imagine that we all want to see the Town successful and playing good football and no doubt those who attack each other on this forum sit next to each other at matches and shout and sing the same songs. So, why get personal?

I'm not the greatest Paolo fan but I love many of the things he has brought to this club, including the national attention and shear entertainment value. I could list loads of other qualities.

Some think he should be kept at all costs, some (I imagine a small minority) didn't want him in the first place. I always felt we had to see how it went. It went well, very well for a while. Now I worry it has tipped too far the other way.

It is Paolo who is mainly rattling cages and if I had to choose between having the current Board here and Paul Bodin's youth set up as opposed to Paolo's 'my way or no way' I'd have to say 'no way'.

I'd be happy for Paolo to stay if he showed some respect to the Board, some respect to the players (in public) and some respect to the youth set up.

And no I don't want to go up the 420 and support the Pox.

And no I don't want to receive a load of posts calling me a moron or a moaner.

I don't think PDC is a good choice for the Premier league but the bookies are right more often than wrong and the type of people I was talking to aren't those who go around making things up - I'm not going to bother justifying the background but upon arriving back from London a neutral also turned round and said I hear your man is heading down South after the next defeat!?...and that came from within Southampton.

I find it hard to believe a Premiership club would take a chance but Paolo has been posturing a bit of late, we had the change of chairman (which is not a it'll all stay the same move) and Southampton are desperate enough to give it a go - any manager going in would need a month pre-January to prepare.

Sap, until now I've not listened to bookie talk of him moving, but now I think there might be something to it. he obviously looks down his nose at us being only leagua 1 and he's confirmed in his BBC column that he was ready at birth to manage in the top level and am I right in thinking his daughter is studying in Southampton? I want to adore this man but his gob gets in the way.
