SWINDON TOWN: Storey gets England call
3:29pm Wednesday 31st October 2012 in Sport
Miles Storey
SWINDON Town striker Miles Storey has been named as standby for England Under 19s' upcoming clash with Finland.
The forward, who has scored three goals in his last two Town appearances, was watched by England Under 21 coach Stuart Pearce last night as he came off the bench to strike twice in six minutes in the 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa.
England's Young Lions recently progressed through their first qualifying stage towards the finals in Lithuania next summer and are now awaiting the draw for the elite round in early December.
The Finland game will take place in Telford on Tuesday, November 13 with kick-off at 7.30pm.

I was thinking last night that his value must be on the up. I'm sure, if he carries on with what he is doing, that someone will come sniffing in January.
Paolo has said that Miles is starting to show maturity, but needs to keep a level head and not get carried away. He has a good mentor in Paolo and should go far.

He has obviously listened and worked hard to get to this position, and hopefully will continue to develop and progress here.
Definitely time for a contract review, presumably on a 1 year at moment?

Really pleased for the lad, great news.

I think de vita yet again should take great credit along with miles. Starting birth for them both in every game. Onwards and upwards
18 isn't too young if you're good enough, The Don and Paul Rideout were both regulars at the ripe old age of 16. Rideout certainly knew where the goal was.

Well done, a week to remember, and equally well done to Paul Bodin, the two Thompson boys and Storey into our first team all within 7 days. They must have impressed our manager along the line to get the nod.
