SWINDON TOWN: Bostock sidelined

Swindon Town's John Bostock leaves the field at Stevenage with a groin injury Swindon Town's John Bostock leaves the field at Stevenage with a groin injury

JOHN Bostock could be out of action for several weeks with an injury picked up at Stevenage.

Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio confirmed after the game that he is likely to be without his playmaker for a significant period of time after Bostock hobbled off holding his groin late on in proceedings at Broadhall Way.

Di Canio suggested that the Tottenham loanee, who was excellent throughout the clash, had sustained a hip problem when taking a second-half free-kick.

“At the end with the free-kick he opened his hip too much and for sure he is going to stay out for a few weeks,” he said.

“He felt a typical knife in the muscle and there is damage. Paul Godfrey (Town’s physio) told him that there is damage.

“This is the moment we have to handle and see what is going on. We are going to launch a few more of the youngest.”

With him being out of contract in the summer, I was hoping we would make Spurs an offer for him to join us on a permenant, but if we are still in an embargo, not sure how much it would take to get him and how badly it would effect our finances unless we were to get a good return on a 20% sell on if Austin gets sold.

At the very least hope he extends his loan until the end of the season.

Have we definitely got 20%?

I assume that is of any profit and not the sale value....it is a real shame about Bostock as he looks like he'll serve us well in the Championship.
...
Having said that we could only afford to buy him (inc. wages) if we make the Championship I fear....unless RVB is happy to give him away...need to extend the loan in January for certain and if possible get a sell on clause for first dibs.

PDC- "We are going to launch a few more of the youngsters."

But Paolo doesn't bother with any of the young players? You know, like Storey, or both the Thompsons!
