SWINDON TOWN: Di Canio's men shock high-flying Stevenage

SWINDON Town made a nonsense of their recent form to produce a sensational 4-0 victory at Stevenage on Saturday.

The Robins, who were winless in three matches going into the clash with promotion-chasing Boro, were utterly dominant at Broadhall Way, as Raffa De Vita, Matt Ritchie and Miles Storey fired the visitors into a three-goal lead before half-time.

It could have been four, had Tommy Miller not missed a penalty in the 34th minute, but Adam Rooney netted less than 60 seconds after coming on as a second-half substitute to make sure Swindon inflicted on Stevenage their heaviest-ever Football League defeat.

The occasion was marred slightly by an injury to the excellent John Bostock, who could be out for several weeks after hobbling off in the dying moments of the contest.

But the 926 traveling Town fans could return to Wiltshire happy in the knowledge that their team is returning to their potent best just in time for the visit of Premier League Aston Villa in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup tomorrow.

...or the Spanish...err Italian Inquisition!

Tuesday is a huge chance to show what we can do and put in a performance like Stoke away - 1st half - would blow them away.
.
To make the last 8 would be another VERY special Cup night at the County Ground and another great memory to live with all of the others.
