HEAD TO HEAD: Tales of woe from Gresty Road
5:00am Tuesday 23rd October 2012 in Sport By Sam Morshead
GRESTY Road has never been a happy hunting ground for Swindon Town.
In 13 trips to Cheshire the Robins have won on just four occasions, scoring a meagre 10 goals in the process.
Town have failed to find the net on their last three visits to the Railwaymen and last won in the north west in April 2003, when Stefani Miglioranzi notched the only goal of the game.
Only one Swindon player has scored more the once at Gresty Road. Iffy Onuora struck twice in a 2-0 win in November 1998.
In another 2-0 win, in April 1996, David Preece managed his only goal for the club - a fine strike from range as Swindon cantered towards the Division Two title.
Bizarrely, of the Robins’ four victories at Crewe, three have come in the month of April.
