Joy as long lost moggy returns home

Tina Bennett welcomes Max back with a cuddle Tina Bennett welcomes Max back with a cuddle

Cat owner Tina Bennett says it feels like winning the pools after her missing moggy Max returned from a 17-week disappearing adventure.

Despite 11-year-old Max vanishing Mrs Bennett, who lives in Hullavington, said she always hoped he would come back.

The grandmother-of-three said: “I never gave up hope although I was beginning to wonder whether he was gone for good.

“It feels like winning the pools, it’s great to have him back.

“I have no idea where he’s been, I’ve questioned him but he’s not given me any answers.”

Max returned on November 4 while Mrs Bennett, an assistant in Malmesbury Library, was running errands. She said: “I was delivering something to a nearby house when I turned round to find Max sitting patiently by my dog Saffron.

“I’ve had both Max and Saffron since they were seven weeks old so they’re like pals now.

“Saffron is glad to have Max back home as well.”

Max seemed to be in good health which leads his owner to suspect he’s been looked after.

In an attempt to locate her missing cat Mrs Bennett searched high and low. She said: “I trekked across fields, put his name up on websites and spoke to the RSPCA.

“It’s just so good to have him back safe and sound.”
