The Organ Inn Supports Wiltshire Search and Rescue

The Organ Inn in Warminster made Wiltshire Search and Rescue their charity of the month for April. The staff and patrons of the pub raised £214 for the charity through a number of activities including a quiz and raffle at the end of the month. Prizes for the raffle were donated by Burtons, Car Mart, Frock Shop Jacqulines, The Organ Inn and Serendipity. Each month The Organ Inn raises funds for a local charity and the Beckford Centre will be the charity of the month for May.

Lawrie Humphries, Treasurer for Wiltshire Search and Rescue says, "I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dan and all those at The Organ who helped raise funds for our team. Despite working in conjunction with the police, Wiltshire Search and Rescue receives no statutory funding and we are entirely reliant on support from the public to keep our team operational".

Wiltshire Search and Rescue exists to search for missing vulnerable people: children, the elderly, disabled persons, despondents, those suffering with Alzheimer's or mental illness and indeed anyone who, at the time of their disappearance is believed to be at risk from death or injury. The team works predominantly in the county of Wiltshire but, if asked, will also assist out-of-county searches mainly within the South West. In addition to meeting their own running costs, the team desperately needs to replace their ageing search control vehicle and would welcome contact from anybody who is able to assist the team in this matter.

Anyone wishing to contact the team (or donate a van!) can do so through the team's website: www.wilsar.org.uk
