Railston named in Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200

A shopfitting company is celebrating after being named as having some of the fastest growing international sales in the country.

Railston, in Royal Wootton Bassett, has come 21st out of 200 private companies in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200.

The shopfitter and commercial interiors specialist, which works with stores across Europe including TK Maxx and Primark, has seen its annual international sales growth increase by 101 per cent over two years.

Railston chairman Steve Rumsey said: “We are absolutely delighted to be ranked at 21, it is a fantastic effort by our team.

“You need to be flexible in this day and age and our people are.We targeted this marketplace several years ago so it has been a strategy of ours to work within that value sector.

“We also decided we would follow our clients into Europe and try to make sure we offer the absolute best service we can, so they continue to use us on a European basis, not just a UK basis.”

The inaugural Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.

Railston, which is based in Whitehill Industrial Estate and employs about 70 people, was founded by Jonathan Loader 30 years ago.

Mr Rumsey said: “The company went through a management buy out in 2005 because the old management had retired. The success came with the new management team.”

Railston is currently working on TK Maxx in Great Western Way.

There are nine companies in the league table from the south west and they have made a significant contribution to the regional economy over the past two years.

During this time they added 4,591 jobs and now employ a total of 31,490 people. Their combined sales are £1.8bn, and their international sales have grown by an average of 60 per cent a year over two years to a total of £725m.
