A MAN who allowed a flat to be used for the cultivation of cannabis has been told he is facing a jail term.
Gareth Barrett admitted permitting the premises in Maurice Way, Marlborough, to be used for the production, or attempted production, of the drug on Thursday, March 10.
And when he appeared before Swindon Crown Court the 27-year-old also admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply on the same day.
Rob Ross, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned so a pre-sentence report could be prepared on Barrett, of Cloatley Close, Royal Wootton Bassett.
Judge Tim Mousley QC agreed and released him on conditional bail until Friday February 3.
He said: “You have pleaded guilty today to serious offences which are extremely likely to result in an immediate custodial sentence: be in no doubt about that. Before your sentence I want a full pre-sentence report on you so you will come back on February 3.”
The judge also issued a warrant for the arrest of a second man, Scott Finlay, after he failed to attend the hearing. Finlay, 42, of Kings Close, Andover, is jointly charge with possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
