A SPECIALIST Royal Wootton Bassett health clinic, which provides treatment for body pains, has donated £1,000 to support a rugby charity's tournament designed to help disadvantaged children.

Star Medical Limited, formerly known as Back 2 Sport and based at Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club, donated the £1,000 sum to Wiltshire Wooden Spoon to put on floodlit tournaments across the county for U9 and U12 teams on Friday.

Owner Holly Berry said: "We are passionate about helping people get back to a pain free life and enjoy their sport and physical activities. Working with grass roots rugby is extremely rewarding.

"Wooden Spoon charity is an ideal partner as it allows us to help disadvantaged and disabled children and young people in the Wiltshire community through rugby and its core values."

Wooden Spoon, which is the children's charity of rugby, have been transforming young people's lives with the game which has attracted the attention and support of stars such as Phil Vickery, Jason Robinson, Maggie Alphonsi and Princess Anne.

The tournaments will kick off at 7pm at Supermarine, Royal Wootton Bassett, Trowbridge, Chippenham, Devizes and Melksham on Friday, with teams, consisting of 432 players, from Minety, Marlborough, Corsham, Bradford On Avon, Warminster, Salisbury and Westbury taking part.
