POLICE are warning people to avoid the B4042 at Ballards Ash this evening following a crash involving three vehicles.

A spokesman for Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Police said: "We are currently dealing with a three-vehicle RTC on the B4042 just past the sports ground near to Ballards Ash.

"Please avoid the area for the foreseeable and share with anyone you know who might want to use this route."

A spokeswoman for the South Western Ambulance Service said at 5pm that paramedics were still at the scene.

She said: "We received the call at 4.02pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the B4042 involving three vehicles.

"The air ambulance responded, but has been stood down.

"An ambulance and a paramedic in a car are still at the scene at the moment."

At 5.45pm a spokesman for Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Police said: "The road is now open again, all drivers were checked over by the ambulance crews and there were no serious injuries everyone walked away."
