A MAN will go on trial next year for allegedly illegally dumping waste at Hackpen Hill.
Ciaran Thomas Price, 23, of Wood Street, Royal Wootton Bassett, appeared in the dock at Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with two counts of illegally dumping waste without the relevant authority on April 6 of this year.
Price pleaded not guilty to both charges, but the case was adjourned until February as the defence had not seen the prosecution papers, despite them being served on Price himself.
The trial has been set for February 5, when five witnesses are expected to be called upon to give evidence.
Price was released on unconditional bail, but magistrates warned him that if he offended during this time it was likely the punishment would be more severe due to him being on bail.
