THE Rotary Club of Royal Wootton Bassett Town will host its inaugural Remembrance Charity Ball to commemorate the servicemen and women who died for their country.

Tickets are now on sale for the special gala tomorrow, which will help to raise crucial funds for the Wiltshire branch of the military charity SSAFA.

The event has been sponsored by Sensata Astute IT Solutions, which is based in the town.

Ceri Pridding, president of the Rotary Club of Royal Wootton Bassett Town, said: “In this centenary year of the outbreak of the First World War it is quite poignant that we are supporting SSAFA as they were the only military charity in existence at the time of the war.”

Music will be provided during the evening by local 19-piece band the Mid West Band.

There will also be a raffle, and the Rotary Club have already extended their gratitude to businesses and retailers in the town who have showed their support by advertising the event programmes and donating prizes for the raffle, which will also help to boost funds for the SSAFA.

To book your tickets, which cost £35 each, call Ceri Pridding on 01793 854136 or email rwbrotaryevents@ gmail.com
