A chamber concert by students and adult musicians delighted the audience at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy.
Performers included Olivia Clarke, piano, Madeleine Staten, flute, Lydia Dinsmore, clarinet, and solo vocalists Beth Graham and Sarah Ryan. Jane Richmond and Sue McMullin played a piano duet by Dvorak and Chris McMullin performed a euphonium solo.
The programme, which spanned several centuries, featured works by Bach, Greig, Fauré, Weber, Gottschalk, Hofmann and Taffanel and numbers from shows and films.
Beth’s vocal numbers included Let Yourself Go, and Isn’t This a Lovely Day? by Irving Berlin; The Man I love, by George and Ira Gershwin, and Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man, by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II.
Sarah sang Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, Stella by Starlight, Round Midnight and Lullaby of Birdland.
All won well-deserved applause.
