Royal Wootton Bassett will light up tonight when the Christmas lights are switched on by Doc Martin TV star Felicity Montagu.
The event will start at 6pm and visitors will be able to browse the High Street when it is opened for late-night shopping, while children will be able to meet Father Christmas in the grotto.
A traditional carol service will follow the switch-on and there will be a variety of street entertainment, including a circus skills workshop and juggling, caricaturist, a rodeo reindeer, drumming workshop, fair rides and face painting.
A range of musical entertainment and dancing will be staged throughout the evening.
To allow the festivities to take place, the High Street will be closed to traffic from 5pm to 9pm.
