TV antiques expert Paul Martin is to start filming his new series of Flog It! at Melksham Assembly Hall next month.
It is a gentle start to the gruelling 60-programme series.
Mr Martin has been living in a converted hunting lodge in Seend for the last two years.
He was chosen to front the popular daytime TV show while he was running an antiques shop in Kingsbury Street, Marlborough.
The programme is now into its sixth series and is increasing its audience all the time.
Mr Martin said: “It’s nice to start the new series on my local patch. We will be doing a couple of shows before Christmas and then really get into the filming in the New Year.
“I think the reason the programme is so successful is that we highlight the civic pride shown by each of the towns and cities we visit.
“For the Melksham shows we will be visiting stately homes in the area like Corsham Court and I would not be surprised if the Wadworth shire horses did not get into the act as well.
“I hope people will come along and have their items valued. Don’t be afraid to bring along things from the 1950s and 1960s. They are valuable these days too.
“It’s a great day out and everyone goes home with a valuation.”
The three programmes being filmed are not likely to be aired until early next year. The filming takes place at Melksham Assembly Hall on Sunday December 7 from 9.30am.
There will be an auction at the Devizes salerooms of Henry Aldridge and Son on Saturday January 17 which will also be filmed for Flog It!
This Saturday Aldridge’s sale includes a collection of eight letters written by Lawrence of Arabia, while he was serving in the RAF under the name T E Shaw.
