SIGNS are being put up at local beauty spots to warn drivers about thieves who target parked cars, after 17 drivers fell victim in October.
A report into policing in Pewsey, Devizes and Marlborough presented to Marlborough Town Council by PC Teresa Herbert, of the community policing team, revealed the figures.
They included a theft of a handbag from a car at Martinsell car park near Pewsey, fuel stolen from a car parked over night in George Lane, Marlborough and cash taken from a car in Devizes.
Cash was stolen from an unlocked car in Anzio road in Devizes and items from two cars in Erlestroke were stolen during daytime incidents being investigated by police.
PC Herbert said Area Board-funded signs were being placed at beauty spots to warn drivers of the risk of theft in the area.
