A PERSON has been hit by a train at Bath Spa, causing disruption to journeys between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads.

Train services between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury will be cancelled.

Services between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads are being diverted between Swindon and Bristol Temple Meads and will not stop at Chippenham or Bath Spa.

National Rail Enquiries says services may be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Emergency services, including British Transport Police, are at the scene.

In a statement issued after 7pm First Great Western said: "Following a person being hit by a train earlier between Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads all lines have now reopened.

"Train services running through these stations are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.

"Train services are now able to resume operation on all routes via Bath Spa station. However, owing to the level of disruption delays in that area will continue for some time."
