CHEFS willing to put their skills to the test on national television under the watch of one of the kitchen's toughest masters are being sought for a new TV show.

The call has come from ITV as they prepare to begin filming new show Culinary Genius, which will see Gordon Ramsay return from his stint of turning ailing restaurants around in the USA to oversee the judging.

Studio Ramsay will produce the new 20 episode daytime cookery series due to air later in the year, and has called on amateur cooks in Swindon and Wiltshire to put themselves forward for the gruelling process.

Described as "mixing food with compelling gameshow and cooking elements", the competition will run for four weeks on ITV.

Each episode will see nine keen amateur cooks competing across a range of challenges in the hope of taking home a cash prize, and the title of Culinary Genius.

Featuring a different guest professional chef each week, with Gordon Ramsay appearing in the first week of shows, the series will be broadcast in 2017, and the host will be confirmed in due course.

To get things underway, the producers are keen to hear from people who simply love to cook and "are really good at doing it".
