TWO men have been released on bail after a woman pedestrian from Swindon died near Savernake Hospital, Marlborough, yesterday.
A blue BMW 328 left the A4 London Road just before 5.30pm yesterday, hitting the woman in her 50s, who was declared dead at the scene.
Police said that both the BMW and a yellow Seat Leon Cupra were rounding a bend on the approach to the hospital heading in the Froxfield direction when the crash happened.
The road was closed for hours last night while police investigations were carried out.
Two men, one aged 24 and the other 27 from the Marlborough area, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Both have been released on conditional bail.
Anyone with information should contact PC1186 Mark Cargill or the road investigations team.
He said: "We are appealing for witnesses to this collision, if you saw or heard anything suspicious in this area, around this time, please contact me on 101; if you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
