The baking brothers from Malmesbury Hobb’s House Bakery are urging people to pop their aprons on and take part in Ted’s Big Bake Off for the Royal United Hospital.

The Forever Friends Appeal are hosting the second Ted’s Big Bake Off event to raise money to assist patient care at the RUH and will take place from October 17 – 21.

Funds raised by various baking related activities can be dedicated to support the RUH Cancer Care Campaign or a ward or department of the participant’s choice.

Tom Herbert, Innovations Director at Hobbs House Bakery, said: “Join us, Big Ted and local baking lovers for a delicious and fun week of fundraising.

“It is a tremendously tasty way to raise money for the Bath Royal Hospital, so bake your best and we’ll see you there!”

The baking brothers will also be paying a visit to staff, visitors and patients at the hospital on Friday, October 21 to officially open the Appeal’s closing activity for the fundraising week – the RUH Big Bake Sale.

Events & Community Officer for the Appeal, Emily Lynch, said: “Tom and Henry were kind enough to support Ted’s Big Bake Off last year and we are absolutely thrilled that they have agreed to come on board as official ambassadors for the event!

“When we decided to launch our very first baking themes event, the brothers were our first choice for support as the Hobbs House brand has become a household name in Bath – the quality of their baking is second to none!”

Last year, the event raised more than £20,000 which helped transform patient care at the RUH.

Miss Lynch added: “With Tom and Henry’s help, this year we hope we can smash this fundraising target and raise even more funds both for the RUH Cancer Care Campaign and other areas of the hospital.”
