Wiltshire Wildlife Trust recently held an awards ceremony celebrating the hard work and dedication of their volunteers across the country.

The awards, given each year, are a way of saying thank you to the thousands of volunteers who offer their time, skill and passion to the trust.

Milly Carmichael, who won the award for Volunteer of the year, has been volunteering on this project for three years. Milly said: “Working with the young people on the Trusts Youth Wellbeing Project is always a joy. I learn so much from them and seeing the difference that the natural environment makes to their lives is so encouraging. I was very grateful to have been nominated and to have been told I’d won – I was surprised and moved!”

Volunteers play an important role at Wiltshire Wildlife. They dedicate thousands of hours of their time and energy ensuring that the Trust Reserves and other projects will continue to inspire and enrich the lives of local people.

Derek Gard, Volunteer Manager, said: “Of course, massive congratulations go out to all those who were nominated this year; our judges said the standard of entrants was higher than ever. We have over 1,000 volunteers from all walks of life who love getting involved in every aspect of our work and without them the trust wouldn’t be able to achieve the work that it does”.
