CHILDHOOD sweethearts Suzanne and Robert Pearce, of Westwood have welcomed the arrival of their newborn son to the delight of their two-year-old daughter Julianne.

Mr and Mrs Pearce, who have been together for the last 15 years, first met each other while attending St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon and working at the old Budgens in Elms Cross Shopping Centre.

Seven years into married life, the pair will celebrate their wedding anniversary in September.

They welcomed the arrival of Nathaniel on June 12 and since returning home, their daughter Julianne has taken on the role of big sister like a duck to water.

“Julianne adores him and she is absolutely brilliant with him. She is only two so she is rather enjoying having a baby in the house,” Mrs Pearce said.

“He isn’t sleeping that brilliantly at the moment and it is a bit tiring but we have a lot of family in the area so despite the tiredness, we have found it really enjoyable having him around.”

The couple decided on the name Nathaniel as they thought it was quite unusual and Mrs Pearce said it paired quite well with their daughter’s name.

She added that, despite being eight days early, both pregnancies were easy-going.

“Both pregnancies were very similar but this one was a bit harder as I had a two year old to run around with but they were very good and easy going with thankfully no health complications,” Mrs Pearce said.

“It was a really long labour as my waters broke on the Wednesday evening and it was 30 hours of labour before going into the delivery room. The build up was so slow but the delivery was over so quickly.

“We planned to have him at the Royal United Hospital in Bath as we had to be moved there with our daughter so we decided to start in the RUH just in case there were any other problems, at least we were in the right place.”

The couple, who decided to find out the gender of their baby at the 20 week scan, plan to have one more child in the next few years.
