Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old motorcyclist died in Calne this morning.
Police were called at 6.08am to the A3102 Calne bypass to reports of a motorcyclist who had come off his Yamaha motorbike. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
It is thought that the ambulance service gave CPR advice to a member of the public while the paramedics made their way to the scene.
A spokesman said: "Ambulance attended and treated the man at the scene but sadly he died.
"The road was closed at the Stickleback Roundabout, Stainer Road junction and School Road roundabout for about four and a half hours.
"If you witnessed this RTC or know anything about it please contact the Collision Investigation Team on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
