A REHEARSED reading of a new play by Cordelia O’Neill, The Stolen Inches, is being performed in Alton Barnes next month before the play heads up to the Edinburgh Festival in August.

The Stolen Inches is a piece of about the Wenlock family with a particular focus on the story of the youngest son Simon.

Simon is rather short, coming in at just over 5ft, further accentuated by the fact the rest of the family are all over 6ft tall.

He feels this has led to years of neglect from them which have had repercussions throughout every part of his life from love to his career.

He finally concludes that the only answer is to take his family to court, suing them for stealing his height.

As the trial commences a TV production company hear of the case and, with the family’s permission, begin a reality show starring the Wenlock’s.

Interviews lead to emotional revelations and secrets being unearthed, but will Simon get his answers and find out who is to blame for The Stolen Inches?

As well as the rehearsed reading, there will also be performances from comic Helen Duff and acoustic singer Al Ritchie as well as an art auction.

The Stolen Inches is being performed in Alton Barnes Coronation Hall on May 16 at 7pm.

Tickets are £20 and include one free drink on arrival. For tickets email Cordelia O’Neill at cfoneill22@gmail.com or Pepi O’Neill at pepi.oneill@gmail.com
