Theodore Alastair George Osborne

Born: March 15, 4.41am

Weight: 7lb 6.5 oz

Parents: Georgina and Oliver Osborne, of North Bradley

SECOND-TIME mum Georgina Osborne said that she couldn’t believe her luck when her plans to have a waterbirth were quickly changed at the last minute when welcoming her newborn, Theodore.

Mrs Osborne, 31, and husband Oliver, 32, already have an 18-month-old son, Elijah. With both pregnancies she had planned to use the birthing pool at Trowbridge Birthing Centre, but on both occasions, her sons wouldn’t wait and she had to give birth naturally.

She said: “With Elijah, someone was already in there and this time I was actually ready to go in and they started to run the water and I thought ‘yes, I’m finally going to be able to use it’. But I became dilated so quickly that everything happened at once and it was too late.”

The couple, who have been married for three years in May, welcomed Theodore on Mothering Sunday. and because of the immediacy of the labour, Mrs Osborne only used gas and air and was on her feet and back home within four hours of giving birth.

Since being home, her older son Elijah has adjusted to the new addition to the family.

Mrs Osborne added: “Elijah absolutely adores him and he is constantly going over to his Moses basket and points and then just says ‘baba’. He“Because he is only 18 months, he didn’t really understand what was going on and he would just look at my belly and even now, seems fine andisn’t jealous at all, I think he is more excited.

When comparing pregnancies, she said that she felt lucky to have no health complications but wanted cravings so it would be a good excuse to eat foods that she wanted like chocolate.

Mrs Osborne added: “The pregnancies didn’t differ, it was just the labours were miles apart. Theodore was a very quick labour but the build up was really slow but when it got going, it was so quick that I could only have gas and air.”

The couple wanted to thank midwives for all their support. Mrs Osborne said: The midwives were brilliant, really supportive to both of us. We want to thank them for helping bring both our boys into the world. Our families were amazing too.”
