Leading equestrian Lucinda Fredericks is appealing for information after an attempted break-in at her yard in Little Cheverell this morning.

The incident happened just before 12.20am at an outhouse in Westbury Road.

A dark 4x4 type vehicle was seen leaving the centre, Rosegarth, at speed, damaging an automatic gate.

Mrs Fredericks, who has competed at two Olympic Games including winning a silver medal, said: “We would ask people to be vigilant and to keep your eyes open for a 4x4 which may have sustained damage to the front from crashing through the gate.

“Also to note that there is a long trail of oil/petrol spillage along the full length of the driveway so we believe that the vehicle is also losing fluid of some description.”

Anyone with information, or who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area between midnight and 12.30am should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
