THE Midcounties Co-operative is inviting local community groups in Wiltshire to apply for grants of up to £2,000, with the next round of the society’s Community Fund now open for applications.

Launched in 2011, the Community Fund is designed to support local charity groups and voluntary organisations that provide services that meet the needs of the community.

Applications close on Friday, February 13, and interested groups must be a member of The Midcounties Co-operative and operating in a community where there is a Midcounties site.

As part of its co-operative values, the society contributes a share of its profits to provide the grants. The donation is part of The Midcounties Co-operative’s commitment to give back to the communities in which it trades.

Di Bateman, head of membership engagement at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “The community groups and voluntary organisations in Wiltshire provide valuable support services and often fantastic educational programmes to the local community, and it is important that they are financially secure so they can continue to help as many people as possible.

"We are committed to giving back to the communities where we work and we want to provide grants that help create long-term resources that will benefit the people of Wiltshire in the future.”
