A Devizes man of 45 was treated in hospital for a possible stab wound after being attacked at a bus stop in the town centre yesterday at 9.30am.

Two men and a woman, all from Devizes and in their 30s, were arrested yesterday on suspicion of assault. They were released on police bail while enquiries continue.

This morning police were searching the area by the bus stop outside The Black Swan looking for a weapon.

A police spokesman said: “It appears there was a disagreement and the man hurt received a wound to his back. We can’t say at this stage what was used to cause the injury.”

He was taken to hospital but released after treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a disturbance at the bus stop just before 9.30am.
