Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service is offering four apprenticeships, to train young people in ICT, human resources, learning and development and prevention.

The service hopes the youngsters will start work early in December on a two year training programme, which will include studying for qualifications.

Ticki Toogood, head of learning and development, said the service had been working with Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire College to establish the apprenticeships.

She said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for young people to get involved in their Fire & Rescue Service and be part of an organisation that plays such a vital role in the local community. We are hoping that engaging young people in our work will help us to improve the way that we influence and encourage them to follow safety advice.”
